Recommended intercrops
The recommended legumes to plant with maize include: beans, pigeon peas, cow peas, groundnut and soya beans. Desmodium keeps pests (leafhopper, leaf beetles, stalk borer, armyworm) away. Other intercrops include potatoes, cassava and pumpkin.
