Nitrogen fertilizers
Avoid overusing commercial nitrogen fertilizers. They can cause fruit puffiness, blossom-end rot and excessive vegetative growth. Excess free nitrogen in the soil also causes softer leaves and makes the plants attractive to pests and diseases.
